Open Road
Final project from my professional diploma in UX design.
Aim:
Create an easy and intuitive digital booking experience for a car rental app, based on a deep understanding of target users - focus on optimising the search and payment functions of the booking process.
Outcome:
Design and build a clickable prototype that can be tested with users, along with a detailed set of wireframes.
Competitive Benchmark:
A study looking at the most prominent car rental companies currently operating (Sixt, EuropCar, Enterprise, Budget). A car rental aggregator was also included (CARNGO), as well as a ride sharing/private car hire app that is focused on providing short term rentals as an alternative to car ownership (Virtuo)
The document provided both an overview of each app under specific areas, as well as an in-depth case study for three of the apps (Sixt, Europcar, CARNGO).
Survey:
Tool - Google Forms
No. of respondents - 53
Usability Testing and Interview:

Interaction design:
Rough layouts and sketches to define the functionality and interaction design of the app.
Prototype:
Tool: Figma
Wireframes:
A detailed technical document for hand off to developers - outlining everything from Homepage to Booking Screen. After conducting usability tests on the medium fidelity prototype some design changes were made for the final wireframes. The testing also provided needed validation of certain design choices.
